Jackie's House has gone through many changes and transformations. After its initial clean-up/clean-out, Steve and Lorie Clark moved in, hoping to help in the establishment of the home for women. But before that happened, circumstances occured that made it difficult for them to continue to live there, and they moved out. Judy Kennedy was then the next resident for a season, until she had to move out due to personal health concerns. After she left, a complete inside renovation was undertaken, which is just now being finalized. The official certificate of occupancy hopefully will be obtained by May, 2008, (We just received our certificate of temporary occupancy this past Sunday, 3/23/08!) with the strong possibility of having the first residents by August of 2008. (Possibly by 7/01/08!). As of 7/13/08, we will be opening 8/18/08! Yeah!

Currently, full time and part time staff are being considered. (We have hired a full time house manager and another full time help.) Also, means to finance the staff wages and the program are being explored, including grants, direct funding by outside organizations, and continued support by individuals and companies. We have already been turning down requests to house women in need, simply because we are not ready to open. With the bed count at 7 total, it would appear we will be realizing full occupancy the majority of the time.

Part of what we will be doing on this page is sharing testimonies of faith to give glory to the Lord concerning all phases of the house, that is, testimonies from residents, from staff, from donors, from volunteers, from Pastors, from other churches, etc. If you have testimonies of this sort, please send an email, and we will put them onto this page. Thanks for your generosity and support. Be blessed.

Jackie's House Newsletter

These are some excerpts from the Jackie's House Newsletter.  Jackie's House, 194 Main St., Concord, VT.  Submitted by Jeff Eddy, Recruiter, Project Manager.

"Shalom." The dictionary says "shalom" means to be complete, perfect and full. I heard someone say it this way, "Nothing missing. Nothing broken. Live in peace." What a nice way to say what we desire for one another.

God's vision for Jackie's House is to provide a home and an atmosphere that will foster the healing of broken hearts and freeing the captives from blindness and oppression. The Lord's desire for us is to have , "Nothing missing. Nothing broken. Live in peace." Glory!

Jackie's House has been in transition, in renovation, and in preparation for the past two and a half years. The cleaning out, demolition, and renovation of the physical structure of Jackie's House mirrors the process of what the women who come into Jackie's House will go through.

For  two and a half years we have been in the procress of tearing down, building up, and preparing for the future. To date, God has met all our needs through many members of the Body of Christ, along with businesses, organizations, and individuals in our surrounding communities. In the years to come God will continue to meet the needs of Jackie's House, for this is His work and His vision to meet the needs of our community. See you at the Jackie's House banquet. Shalom.
