Basic Life Skills:
Domestic skills may be developed such as meal planning, shopping, and cooking. Specialized skills like gardening, flower arranging, growing flowers, and "putting-food by" techniques. Also, quilting, rug hooking, sewing, and other hand crafts will be offered by instructors and staff. Checkbook management, monthly planning, goal setting, and debt reduction classes will be available to help secure a future financial foundation for women in need of financial skills. Computer training will be available to those who are looking for training and skill development in technology related areas.

Mentoring:
Each resident will enter into a mentoring relationship with another woman who will provide encouragement and guidance during her stay at Jackie's House. A mentor is someone who accepts the friendship of another for the purpose of offering guidance and help in ways the other may need.

Medical :
Medical needs are provided by local health care providers. This will cover any current medical conditions and the diagnosis of needs that weren't known previously. Sources for fianacial aid for medical needs will be explored, particularly if the resident has not had medical insurance before entering Jackie's House.

Educational:
Education will be a large part of a resident's experience at Jackie's House. After some "getting to know you time," counsel will be offered for possible educational goals for the resident, for the immediate future and for a future job or career. Steps can then be planned out as a way to have the education happen. Then, the process of achieving the goals can begin to happen at Jackie's House.

Recreational:
We recognize that we were created body, soul, and spirit, and as such, Jackie's House encourages each woman, with help and guidance from staff, to develop a plan for recreation including, exercise, hobbies, outdoor activities, and other leisure time activites that will help foster emotional balance. Re-creation is an important part of the life at Jackie's House. The property itself will function wonderfully in re-creation, because it is situated so nicely with a large back yard and access to a small river.

Counseling:
Counseling is the effort by two or more people to bring understanding, wisdom, and guidance to a situation so that a person can make the right decision, or the best possible decision at the time. Counseling is an effort, it takes time and energy. Hopefully the outcome of the effort is to place a person in a better situation, concerning understanding and motivation, then before they entered into counseling. Hopefully the person receiving the counseling will listen and do what was offered. Counseling will be offered in as many parts of the residents life as the need requires. Many resources are available and will be used as they are seen appropriate. Special assistance will be available for addressing the effects of addiction, trauma, and grief associated with substance abuse and domestic violence.

Spiritual:
"Come to me all of you that are weary and fatigued, and over-burdened, and I will refresh you and give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and understand me. For I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest and recreation to your souls. For my yoke is gracious and kind, and my task is light." Matt. 11:28 - 30
Jackie's House is a place of rest, comfort, and real hope. We will minister by the leading of the Holy Spirit to your needs. The power and love of God are at hand, ready for a release on your life. The baggage you bring, the messes that are behind you will be put in their places, so a new beginning can happen to each resident. This release from burdens and baggage will happen as quickly as the resident allows the Holy Spirit to work in their lives. A large part of what will happen is the kingdom of heaven will be established in your life, and discipleship will begin for you on your new journey in life.
